Private Treatment Plans

Prescription treatment plans are for adults, based in the UK, who are experiencing health issues and who would like to receive an assessment and if applicable, a treatment plan from a qualified independent prescriber. Treatments are dispensed and delivered from our regulated pharmacy directly to your home or workplace.

Yes. Our formulary of medications available and conditions treated are controlled, governed, and continuously risk-assessed by our Medical Director, Dr. Aseel Hamoud. Unlike many services of this type, we do not use questionnaires but rather have virtual video consultations which are technically referred to as synchronous consultations. This builds safety and appropriateness into our service, ensuring our clinician prescribers can be ultimately satisfied with who and what they are treating. There is no guarantee of supply of medications, and any prescriptions supplied are at the sole discretion of our clinician prescriber.

Our independent prescribers are trained pharmacists, nurses, or doctors who can also prescribe any medicine for any medical condition, subject to accepted accreditation and good clinical practice. They are all registered with their respective regulatory bodies. For example, a pharmacist independent prescriber is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Each independent prescriber undergoes an extensive background check including a disclosure and barring service check (DBS). In addition, they undergo a rigorous license verification process. When you book an appointment with our independent prescribers you will see their full name, license number, and any specialized credentials they have.

No. At the moment, it is only available in the United Kingdom.

Yes. This is a private service. You do not need to pay for the consultation. You only pay for the cost of the medication you are prescribed.

Yes. If they are in the same location as you, it is possible to have someone with you during your video consultation. You should let your prescribing clinician know if you have someone with you at the start of your appointment.

Yes, for your safety and to ensure the service we provide you with complies with regulations, our clinicians may request you provide ID at the start of your virtual consultation to verify your identity.

At the end of the consultation, if you are approved for a treatment plan, it will be available for viewing on your dashboard or in ‘my treatments’ located in the Private Treatment Plans feature. From here you will be able to checkout and make payment. You may also be sent a short survey asking you about your experience attending your video consultation. We encourage you to complete this as it provides us with valuable feedback to improve your experience in the future. It’s helpful for us if you point out things that didn’t go well, and suggest ways of improving the experience for you and others. If you would like the clinician to send details of the consultation to your doctor, you can request that we forward any notes.

Depending on the outcome of the Private Treatment Plan consultation, our independent prescriber may exercise their clinical judgment to decide if they need to contact your doctor. Any communications with your doctor are only made with your express consent.

Yes. However, with GLP-1 weight loss medications like Wegovy, the license requires that there are support resources put in place as part of the plan including coaching for a healthy lifestyle, exercise, and diet. Our clinicians will discuss this with you if you are prescribed this type of treatment.

Yes, we follow strict General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which came into force in May 2018. This places legal requirements on ourselves to ensure your personal data is managed securely with utmost confidentiality. Records are maintained of the processing that is carried out and reported when breaches of the regulation do occur. Our platform is also HIPAA compliant which means we are able to handle PHI (Personal Health Information) securely.

We operate a safe and effective service. This means that our prescribing clinicians always exercise their clinical judgment when prescribing. Unfortunately, we do not operate a service where you can demand a certain medication. If you are not prescribed anything, then you will not be charged.

If you qualify for a treatment plan then our pharmacy will dispense and deliver the medication to your nominated address. All deliveries are tracked for your convenience and peace of mind. You will receive a full trail of notifications keeping you updated on the status of your order.

We aim to ship all orders placed Monday – Friday before 3pm on the same day. Orders placed outside these times will be shipped the next working day. All deliveries are shipped with Royal Mail, DPD, or DHL who deliver Monday – Saturday.

Our delivery options have the following delivery times:

• Royal Mail Standard Tracked & Signed for Delivery for NHS prescriptions – 2/3 day delivery (normally 48 hours).
• DHL Express Tracked Delivery – 1/2 day delivery (normally 24 hours).
• Royal Mail Special Delivery – Next working day (Royal Mail Guaranteed before 1pm).

We currently deliver to all UK postcodes (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland). Some postcodes in rural areas may have a slightly longer delivery time.

Yes. We use a specialist courier service for all thermo-sensitive deliveries.

We use tracked services for all our deliveries. We will send you notifications with your tracking details when your private treatment plan is dispatched. This information is also available on the NowPatient app.

Delivery is normally made very promptly after your dispatch notification is received. You can check the tracking details of your parcel in your account at any point after dispatch for an update on your delivery status.

Unfortunately, sometimes packages can get lost in the delivery system, if after 10 days you have not received your delivery, please contact us and we will do all we can to resolve the problem.

All orders are packed in discreet and unmarked packaging, so are suitable to be delivered to wherever you require (home, work, or a neighbor). For thermo-sensitive orders (e.g. Insulins) we use cold chain-validated packaging. Your parcel will normally receive an estimated delivery window from the courier on the day of delivery.
