How a Pharmacist can help with your child’s oral health….
When it comes to managing oral health matters, especially children’s, we don’t usually think of taking advice from a Pharmacist.
However, a Pharmacist can help with a variety of teething problems or general oral hygiene in young children, saving a visit to the Dentist.
The British Dental Association (BDA) estimates that 150 procedures to extract teeth are performed each day under general anaesthetic in hospitals across England, costing the NHS around £33 million a year.
In addition, the cost of treating dental patients who’ve ended up at A&E, rather than getting treatment earlier, could be a staggering £18 million a year, according to the BDA.
Pharmacists can help with:
- Advice on the best teething gels and creams
- What Toothpaste to use (as it is important to have the correct amount of fluoride)
- Prescription advice and guidance, in the light of any issues.
At Now Healthcare Group, you can chat to a Pharmacist and/or order and manage your medications via our apps.
